"And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?"

Genesis 3:9

I remember when I was about 11 years old, I received a list of chores to do when my mother went to work. I would play until the very last minute until my brothers would say, Mama is coming! I remember putting everything that was on the floor in the closet. I did this for several days.

When my mother came in this time, I don't know what made her open that closet door, but when she did, EVERYTHING came tumbling out. All I heard was “GET ME THAT BELT!” and I ran. I remember running outside and she ran behind me. I ran around the car and she came after me but could not catch me. That was a BIG mistake! She stopped, turned around and said, “That's alright Sista you got to come inside at some time and I Willll be waiting!”

OMG!!!!, at that moment I wished I would have never ran. It was utter torture standing outside with thoughts of having to go back in to catch a whoopin, from a mother who I made extremely angry by running. 1 John 4:18

When Adam sinned he (in a sense) ran outside away from God’s presence. Genesis 3:8-9 God came looking for him for he was the one who left because of his sin, not God Isaiah 59:1-2. Do you really think God did not know where he was or what he did? Psalms 139:7-9

“And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? Genesis 3:9

There is no need to hide from God. He already knows what is in your closet. Psalm 139:2-4 and only He can clean it up. The very thing you need God for (forgiveness for what you did) is the very thing Satan will use to keep you outside by torturing you with what you did.

According to Revelation 12:10 Satan is the accuser of the brethren.

Although you may find it hard to communicate with God, He said that if you simply confess your sin, He will forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.  This is to restore you back to a relationship with Him by agreeing that what you did was wrong. For as a believer, once you received Jesus as Lord and Savior your sins, past, present and future, were forgiven.

He said He will never forsake us, even if you make your bed in Hell. Psalms 139:7-10. He's not waiting for you to come inside to give you a good whopping; instead He's there with you holding you up,

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand." Psalm 37:23-24 and guides you back into the safety of His arms. Psalm 139:10

Because of Adam's sin we all were separated from God. But thanks be to God, because one man sin separated us, another Man's (Jesus the Christ) obedience restored us! Romans 5:19

God says, "(insert your name) _____________, where are you? A broken and contrite spirit I will not despise or reject. Psalms 34:18

The Source of all things is calling you. Answer His call today. Remember:

  • we all have sinned and come short of God's glory Romans 3:23.

  • And while we were yet in our sin Jesus died for us Romans 5:8.

  • Never think you can do this by your own strength Romans 5:6.

  • So Confess 1 John 1:8-9,

  • Be assured you have an advocate 1 John 2:1-2,

  • He knows your heart 1 John 3:20-21

And Come Back Inside boldly Hebrews 4:15-16.

It's funny, we are the ones who run outside and He is the loving Father who waits for us with loving arms, Isaiah 30:18 to correct us because we are His children. Hebrews 12:5-6

You can't find the help you need outside. Believe me the longer you stay outside the more time you will be tortured. Trust me! My Mama taught me that! (smile)

Today's Prayer:

Dear Father,

We come humbly before you today. Giving you all the glory and all the praise for you alone are worthy of all praise. We thank you for being such a merciful God because it is of your mercies that we are not consumed. Your mercies are new every morning. Your faithfulness is great even when we are not.

You are slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. You never keep your anger with us forever for you are our Father and Creator; you pitieth us for you know that we are simply dust.

So Lord, I pray that each one that comes to this place will receive your mercy and forgiveness. I pray they know that because they are your children their sins are covered and remembered no more. I pray nothing keeps them from drawing nigh unto you that you may draw nigh unto them. I pray that they experience newness in their relationship with you. I thank you for restoring their joy as they make their confessions. And by doing so I pray that every prayer request be answered as it be according to your will. I pray for their miracles today.

It is in Jesus' name I pray. Amen!
