Empowerment Word for Today

• “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” Luke 6:46

  esus teaches that being around Him or calling Him Lord is not the same as obeying and surrendering to Him.

• “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.” Matthew 5:8

People can be near Jesus in words, church attendance, or religious activity while their hearts remain unsurrendered.

• “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.”

John 6:66-67

Many followed Jesus closely, but when His teachings became difficult, they walked away. Proximity did not equal surrender.

• “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;

but he that doeth the will of my Father...” Matthew 7:21

Relationship and obedience matter more than mere association.
