I AM the Great Reward!

“After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying,

Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”

Genesis 15:1

God told Abram that He was his exceeding great (boundless, endless, abundantly above all that he could ask, think or imagine) reward. He did not give him a reward of mere money or things but gave Abram Himself. God said, "I AM the Reward". Abram received access to the King of Glory, the Possessor of heaven and earth, the Most High God who is in the highest place guarding and ruling over all things, making everything work to fulfill His divine plan and purpose, El Elyon, He received the REWARD who is boundless and never ends. There is no searching of his knowledge, He knows all and is All.

Why was Abram given such a great reward? Webster's dictionary says a reward is something given or received in return or recompense (to pay or give compensation for) for service, merit, hardship, etc. He was rewarded, simply, for his belief in God. Genesis 15:6. Because of his belief in God in Genesis 14:18-23, he honored God in obedience to His will and he did not allow man to receive glory for God's blessing. He did his part and God did His. God and Abraham became friends. How awesome to be a friend of the Reward Himself. Think about that for a moment. Let it marinate in your heart. Selah….

The greatest thing in all of life is a relationship with God. He says draw nigh unto me and I will draw nigh unto you. James 4:8 “But as Abraham, you must believe that he is God, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Is it you whom God is talking to today? Please heed His voice. He is calling you to a deeper relationship, a friendship with him, what He first created us for when He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden where they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. He wants to walk with you today.

What are your concerns? What is it that you don't understand? He holds the answer and has given us access to Him through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Romans 5:1-2, John 15:15. He says, ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 "Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:2-3

Today's Prayer

I pray that God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, give you spiritual wisdom and revelation (insight) so that you might grow in the knowledge of Him. I pray that your heart will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.

I pray that this revelation will lead you to an awesome relationship and friendship with God. One that will cause Him to reveal more of Himself to you each day so that nothing is missing or broken and that you are made whole in Him through Jesus Christ and by your diligence in seeking Him He reveals to you that He himself is your great and exceeding reward.

In Jesus name, Amen.

(Now make it personal and talk to the Lord and He will reveal more of Himself to you.)
