My Date with God in Sunday School

"Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone;

because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of

unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts."

Isaiah 6:5

I love Sunday School. It's like going on a date and getting to know someone more and more intimately. The more you meet the more He begins to reveal more and more of Himself. It's like going to His family gathering, talking about Him with all those who love Him and discussing their experiences with Him. We laugh, we cry, we reason together, we pray and sometimes we even worship. I love Sunday School.

In Sunday School, not only does God reveal more of Himself to us, He also reveals to us what He knows about us that hinders our relationship with Him and others.

In our Sunday School lesson titled “Holy, Holy, Holy”, Isaiah 6:1-12 God taught us what happens in the midst of true worship that usher us into His presence. When in God's presence Isaiah saw God's power, His authority and His HOLINESS and he became undone. Instead of seeing the sinfulness of the people he prophesied and preached to, he saw his own wretchedness, sinfulness, and unworthiness. Isaiah 6:5 Yet, God called him into His presence. Wow! How can such a Holy God allow such a sinful people in His presence, but not only does He allow it, He desires it. Psalms 8:4

In this lesson God gave me more revelation on what I experienced one Sunday morning during Worship Service. The song was “Only You Are Holy” and as I stood in praise with thoughts of the pain I was experiencing over someone who hurt me, with tears streaming from my eyes, suddenly instead of his sins, I became undone and saw my own. In that moment I realized I had held man at too high of a standard and placed him where only God should reign. I realized that although I was hurt, I too have hurt someone at some time. Isaiah 6:1 For only God is truly Holy.

So, on my date with God in Sunday School, the lesson He taught me, (within the assigned lesson) was to choose to worship God and take your mind off of man. You might find that the one you are struggling with to forgive may have been placed in the place in your heart where only God should reign.

It was there in Sunday School I grew closer to God and our family.

God says, "_______________ Sunday School is not only for the children. It is actually "THE" LIFE CLASS. Get up early and come and join the family gathering. We are waiting for you. You are the part of the family that is missing. Besides the early birds get the much, needed worms (BREAD). (Smile)

Today's Prayer

Dear Father God,

O Most Holy and Righteous God, today we simply bow down and worship You. For only You are Holy, only You are worthy, only You are wonderful. For there is no one else like You, Who is faithful ever true, All our love, our hearts, our lives are a testimony.

Of all that you have saved us from, all that you have delivered us from, and all that you continue to keep us from. Forgive us today for the times we placed man where only you should reign. Help us keep our focus on the Cross where Jesus precious blood was shed for all.

Thank you for the blood that can keep us in your presence. What love!!! How can we ever repay!!! What shall we render unto you Lord for all of Your benefits toward us? We will lift up the cup of salvation and praise Your name Lord for saving us.

In your great, mighty, and holy name we pray, Amen, Amen, Amen!!!

(Now make it personal)

Great word! How important it is to have dates with God. All we have to do is show up and he's there...and out of everyone calling his name he still makes time for us.. I have been in prayer for others and it was then when it was revealed to me that it's me also who needs it. This Garden, I tell you. What a wonderful place to find inspiration. ❤️💕🙌🏾
