No Regrets

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:13-14
Often, I found myself regretting things that I've done or didn't do, mistakes made, and problems because of those mistakes. Thoughts of what if I had done that or what about this? While in a moment of feelings full of regret, the Lord brought me back to when I was crying on the altar while in church alone. I remember literally boohooing and crying out loud with tears flowing.
“Lord please give me wisdom the way you gave it to Solomon. All he did was ask and you just gave it to him. Please, Lord, please give me wisdom!” 1 Kings 3:11-12
If you could have seen me. It was a pitiful site. As I quieted down and became silent, I heard the Lord say, “Are you finished? Get up and do what I asked you to do.” As I reflect back to that day to where I am now, that old saying rings true, “Be careful of what you ask for.” Someone once wrote,
“Man learns through experience, and the spiritual path is full of different kinds of experiences. He will encounter many different difficulties and obstacles.”
Little did I know I was asking for a life filled with experiencing life with Him through Christ. Romans 5:1-4
There have been many, many trials, much pain, sadness, sorrow, obstacles, mistakes, setbacks as well as comebacks on this journey. But I've found that it's because of all of these things I am able to encourage my children, and all those that God send my way, in the wisdom of Him. I absolutely love that whenever my children are faced with a life issue and they come to me for advice, after I share with them my experience, the wisdom of God and how to apply His word, I watch their face light up and their strength and peace return, and I watch them move on in hope and victory. "And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:" Romans5:3 KJV
My daughter often says that one of the reasons why she and her husband have found success is because they listen to the wisdom of their parents. Whatever we failed in they simply don't do, and whatever we have prospered in through God is what they do. Proverbs 1:5
From this moment on I will live with NO REGRETS but remember the day I asked for wisdom and embrace everything God sends and allow to come my way. Proverbs 16:16 The trials, the disappointments, the love, joy and pain, NO REGRETS. I will continue to go through this life with Jesus Philippians 3:13-14 and whatever comes my way I will just do what God ask me to do. In other words, I will do what His Word says. Psalms 111:10
So, what was it that God asked me to do when after I cried for more wisdom? It was not just the assignment for that moment. He was simply saying wisdom is experiencing life with Him through Jesus and no matter what happens just do what He ask me to do and I will get through. He said Don't worry, there will be many trials, obstacles, failures but His grace is always sufficient. 2 Corinthians 12:9
God says to you today, "No regrets ____________ (insert your name), embrace what I have allowed, continue to look to me, and do what I say. And always remember, My grace is sufficient."
Today's Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
In all things You have taught us to give thanks! In good times and bad we give thanks because You are our Father and we are in Your care. Thank you Father for teaching and keeping us through times of testing, through times of failure. But in You there is no failure for You said the steps of a good man are ordered by You and You delight in our way and though we fall we shall not be utterly cast down for you uphold us with Your hand!
We love You because You first loved us and your desire is not that we perish nor fail for because of You sending Your only begotten Son to die and then live we now have life and we can have it more abundantly. Lead us and guide us to all that Jesus died for us to be.
In Jesus name, the name that is above all names, we pray! AMEN!!!
